Our regular season is April 1 to November 1, weather permitting. We have several skates for skaters of different abilities. If you aren’t sure if you are prepared for one of our skates, look at our skating skills needed for these events.
Regular Weekly Skates
- Sunday Beginner Social Skate (9:15 AM) for entry level skaters.
- Sunday Morning Skate (10:30 AM) for intermediate skaters.
- Tuesday Night Skate (7:30 PM) for advanced skaters.
- Wednesday Midweek on the Minuteman Skate (6:30 PM) for beginner and intermediate skaters.
We have special social skates on different rail trails in the Boston area. Additional information about each skate will be posted to the ICB mailing list closer to each date.
Social skates for 2016 will be announced throughout the season.

What To Bring
Other than your skates, you should bring the following:
- ICB Event Waiver. You must sign the electronic waiver or bring a printed and signed waiver to your first ICB event! A waiver applies to all ICB skates for a season.
- Helmet and wrist guards. These are not optional!
- Knee and elbow pads are recommended.
- Water, or money to buy water during a water stop.
- Optionally, enough money to buy lunch or dinner after our skate. We often grab something to eat when we’re done skating.
Even if you do not join the club, please be advised that the USE of HELMETS and WRIST GUARDS is REQUIRED during events sponsored by the Inline Club of Boston ("ICB"), including but not limited to its weekly city and night skates, and that ICB strongly recommends that all participants in such events should carry medical and liability insurance and should wear full protective gear (such as a helmet, wrist guards, knee pads, elbow pads, and, at night, reflective clothing and blinking lights). Please also be advised that there are particular inherent risks of injury involved in city inline skating, including, but not limited to: dangers arising from falls, equipment failure, collision with vehicles, bicycles, other skaters, and pedestrians, unexpected obstacles including potholes, manhole covers, grates, chains, trolley tracks, cobblestones, bad pavement, water, oil, debris, gravel, curbs, stairs, hills and inclines, severe injury and death. This list of possible risks is not comprehensive, because conditions on the street, including the weather and lighting, are constantly changing. ICB cannot accept any liability for the existence of any such risks. Ultimately, each skater is responsible for staying alert to potential risks and obeying all traffic regulations. The ICB strongly recommends that all participants in ICB-sponsored events should be in good health, and should verify that their equipment is in good condition. Furthermore, all participants in ICB-sponsored events not specifically labeled as being for beginners should possess and master a set of minimum skate skills before participating in such events: the ability to skate in control, especially on hills and in groups of skaters; to stop in traffic; to maneuver curbs; and to avoid obstacles.
